Schoology: How Do I Log In, Viewing Student Progress and Grades
FUHSD uses Schoology (School - o - jee) for our Learning Management System.
With Schoology, students can digitally submit homework assignments, review grades, participate in interactive discussions, receive announcements and feedback, take tests, message instructors, and more.
Students & Parents have access to Schoology Training. Students receive their training during the first days of school; parents can access basic training through the panels below this content, and will find additional training in the course dashboard once they've logged into Schoology.
Students are automatically enrolled and will use their FUHSD Google Login via the Schoology link in the student portal.
Parents are automatically enrolled, but are issued unique passwords. These unique passwords will be mailed to you near the beginning of the school year.
We set up your account with the email address you provided to us in Infinite Campus. If you no longer have access to your login credentials, please contact your site's tech help:

All guardians with a unique email address (not shared with another guardian) in Infinite Campus have a Schoology account. Comprehensive FUHSD Schoology guide for Parents
Below we have covered the basics, additional tutorials are available in our Schoology FAQ for FUHSD parents. This document includes information about the mobile app and advanced functions you might want to learn about to customize your account for your personal preferences.
Schoology Home Page: Your account & Your child's account
Having a Parent account in Schoology is actually like having two accounts:
- Your personal account, with your own name and information;
- Your Child Activity view. From here, you can view Schoology from your child’s perspective, and see what he or she sees, and receive updates about his or her activity.
Start by clicking on the arrow in the upper-right corner, next to your name, and then select your child’s name to switch into his or her account. The check mark in this drop-down menu indicates which account you are currently viewing.
You may also adjust your default view in "Settings" found at the bottom of the drop down.
Student Activity View vs. Your Activity View
Student Activity View
Viewing Your Child’s Activity
Click on the arrow in the upper-right corner of your account and select your child’s name to view his or her activity.
From the home page, you can quickly view specific information about your child’s Schoology activity:
- The Student Activity area in the center of the page displays your child’s recent submission and grade information.
- Toggle into Enrollments in the same area to see a list of the courses your child is currently enrolled in, along with his or her grade. If the teacher or administrator has chosen not to display the grade while the course is in progress, you will see a blank value (as in the grade column above). Click on an individual course to see grades received on assignments, tests, and discussions from that course. Depending on the permission settings in place at your school, you may not be able to view content posted by other members of the course.
- The Recent Grades area lists graded assignments, tests/quizzes, and discussions for the student. To view the graded items, click the item you'd like to view.
- The Overdue section displays a list of course materials your child did not turn in by the due date.
- The Upcoming section displays a list of your child’s upcoming assignments and events.
- Courses: You can see a list of your child’s current courses. Click the course name to navigate to the course profile as your child views it. Depending on the permission settings in place at your school, you may not be able to view content posted by other members of the course.
- Groups: You can see a list of your child’s Schoology Groups. Groups can be used for a variety of activities, from school projects to extracurricular teams and clubs. Depending on the permission settings in place at your school, you may not be able to view content posted by other members of the group.
- Grades: Depending on the settings in place at your child’s school, this menu provides access to view the following:
- Grade Report: Review your child’s grades for all courses.
- Mastery: If your child’s school aligns materials to standard and learning objectives, you can check your child’s progress in this area.
- Calendar: Click to view a calendar of past and upcoming events and assignments. To find out more information regarding a particular event, place your cursor over the title. A clue tip displays with the event type (assignment, test/quiz, event), the event's course or group, and the student name. Click the event to display profile information in a pop-up window.
Note: There is no Messages icon in the Child Activity view. Messages to your child are private and are not viewable from a parent account.
Your Account Activity
To return to your Schoology account, click the down-facing arrow and select your account. If you have linked accounts in Schoology, you will see the school associated with each account under your name.
While toggled into your personal account, you'll see your own name in the top right corner. Your personal account homepage displays activity related to any courses and groups in which you are enrolled, a well as school information from the school with which you are associated.
Recent Activity
Similar to your child's Activity Summary, your Recent Activity area displays updates from the school, courses, and groups in which you participate. You can filter the Recent Activity feed by clicking the drop-down menu (labeled Most Recent) to the right of the Recent Activity heading.
Upcoming
On the right column of the Recent Activity page, the Upcoming area displays a list of impending events and due dates for graded items in the school, courses, and groups in which you're enrolled. To view more details about the item, click the item name from the list.
Calendar
Access your personal calendar by clicking the calendar icon in the top navigation of your personal account. Your personal calendar displays personal events you've created for your account, as well as events and assessments for the school, courses, and groups in which you're enrolled.
Messages
When you have a new message in your inbox, the Messages icon on the top menu displays a new number. You can also access your sent messages and all messages you have received by navigating to the same icon and clicking on "View All".

If you still can’t locate the message and activation key, please contact the school directly.
What do I do if I forgot my Infinite Campus username or password?
Students: Your IC username is your FUHSD ID (leave out @student.fuhsd.org), and your password is the same one you use for your FUHSD Google account & Schoology. If this combination doesn't work, please email your school's tech help team.
Parents: Use the blue “Forgot your password” or “Forgot your username” links below the username and password fields. These will ONLY work if you have created an account and have updated security preferences.

FUHSD Google Accounts
Each student is provided with an FUHSD Google account. The username and password are attached to not only the FUHSD account, but to Schoology and Infinite Campus as well. The username should be the first initial of the student's first name, the entire last name and the last three digits of the student's ID number. For example, student Eric Chan (ID #5894356) would have the FUHSD id echan356.
While most students have no problem with their accounts, some problems do occur. For FUHSD Google Account assistance, please see your school's Library Media Teacher.
Students are issued usernames when they start school. Freshmen must log in to school computers and change passwords from school the first time they open their accounts. For best results, it is recommended that all students change passwords at school on school computers.
The password reset tool will reset not only the login information to get into school computers, but also FUHSD Google accounts, Schoology and Infinite Campus.
The account comes with access to the following applications, among others:
- Docs
- Sheets
- Forms
- Classroom
- YouTube
- Gmail
If you have a personal Gmail Account, you are strongly encouraged to link your FUHSD Gmail account, as many teachers and staff utilize Gmail to contact students. For more help with getting started, view the Logging into your FUHSD Google Account presentation.
For help with any of the above applications, please use Google Support.
FUHSD GOOGLE ACCOUNT MIGRATION AFTER LEAVING THE DISTRICT
Students leaving school must migrate their FUHSD account. View the Google Account Migration presentation for details.
Student Password Help
At the beginning of the year, students are prompted to update passwords the first time they log in to school computers. Passwords should not be shared. They should be 8-12 characters long, and include both numerals and characters. Visit the Connect Safely website for more information and tips on secure passwords.
The FUHSD Password Reset Tool may be used for updating or resetting forgotten passwords.
Please view Instructions for Using the FUHSD Password Reset Tool video tutorial.
For assistance with any additional password problems, please email online help.
Naviance/Family Connection Help
Students and parents will receive access information to Family Connection from a guidance counselor. For help accessing Family Connection, please see a guidance counselor. It is very important that students accurately enter their email addresses. The Guidance Blasts are sent using Family Connection.
Library Research Resources
Our Library Print and eBook Catalog
The library catalog, also called the Destiny catalog, is online. This means students can access it from school or home, wherever there is a network connection.
There is no login required to search the library catalog. However, when students log into the Library Catalog/Destiny (by clicking on FUHSD Google sign in), they can do the following:
- Track which library and textbooks are checked out to them.
- Save searches.
- Check out eBooks & audiobooks (Sora, EBSCO eBooks, Gale eBooks)
- Renew books
- Place holds on books
DIGITAL RESOURCES
DATABASES & EBOOKS
Students have access to a variety of nonfiction research materials. We have database subscriptions for journal and news articles and reviews, and we have eBook databases, which extend our print collection. Our digital nonfiction/reference collection is larger than our print collection. Please visit your school's library webpage for tutorials on using the eBook databases and Sora, the school Overdrive application that not only gives students access to our library collections, but also the Santa Clara County Library District and other libraries.
Students are able to login to our databases from school or home. To login from home, students must use the correct usernames and passwords. Please visit your school site's library page to access the username/password document with your FUHSD Google account.
Additional Online Tools
Turnitin is an online submission tool teachers use to help promote academic integrity.
Students will mostly access turnitin.com through Schoology, but can also access outside the learning management system with their FUHSD Google login username (FUHSD email address & password combo). PLEASE FOLLOW YOUR TEACHER'S INSTRUCTIONS WHEN USING THIS TOOL TO SUBMIT ASSIGNMENTS!
Many students already have accounts from other schools when they start at LHS, but these student accounts are regularly deleted from old schools (not the papers, just the accounts-- all papers form part of the Turnitin database). It's extremely important to understand that your LHS Turnitin account is used exclusively at LHS, and you need to use your FUHSD email address to login and that account to enroll in classes.
Students should use the Manuals and Support links for assistance, or click the links below to get help with the following:
