Interdistrict Transfers
Transfers Into the Fremont Union High School District
- New Inter-district Transfer (IDT) requests accepted from January 25 to April 1 for possible enrollment in subsequent school year
- IDT requests must first be approved by your resident school district - You must their form and follow their procedures
- Release approval by the home district does not guarantee, transfer approval by the Fremont Union High School District (FUHSD)
- IDT decisions will be made within 10 school days of receipt starting February 1, 2023
- Upon review of the received release and corresponding application, FUHSD will notify you of the district’s decision in writing. As the process involves a number of factors, requests are processed within 15 school days. Please note there may be delays in this timeline due to the time of the year (holidays, breaks, etc.), a student's Special Education status, or other reasons beyond staff control
- Please note that IDT requests are approved for the school district, not for a particular school site. If approved, FUHSD will enroll your student at a non-impacted school.
- If your student is receiving Special Education and/or Speech Language Services, please attach the most recent IEP
- Failure to adhere to timelines will be deemed an abandonment of the request
- IDTs can be revoked for any of the following reasons:
- The overcrowding of school facilities at the relevant grade level (however, once a student is admitted, a district shall not deny continued attendance because of overcrowded facilities at the relevant grade level);
- The student does not maintain an attendance rate above 92%, or is considered truant or chronically absent;
- The student fails to uphold appropriate behavior standards by having multiple or significant disciplinary incidents, which may result in escalating consequences including suspension and/or expulsion;
- Student's GPA in any semester falls below a 2.0, or falls behind credits needed for graduation
- Substantive omissions or inaccurate information was provided on the application for enrollment or inter-district transfer, or for the failure to notify the district of residence of a change of address;
- Other conditions of approval as noted on the individual student Interdistrict Transfer application.
