Measure B Bond Program

On June 3, 2008, voters in the Fremont Union High School District passed Measure B, a $198 million school bond to: construct and renovate classrooms and science labs, replace or modernize aging food service facilities, construct solar electricity systems, replace aging infrastructure, create a long term technology fund, modernize our tracks and fields and implement other long term facility improvements.

Bond Projects by FUHSD Campus

Cupertino

At Cupertino High School, the following projects were completed during the Measure B Bond Program:

  • Build a new two-story Kitchen Cafeteria building that houses new Library, Guidance and Support Services spaces as well.
  • Build a new Physical Education Classroom, Weight Room and Team Room Building.
  • Convert the existing Guidance and Support Services Building to Classrooms.
  • Convert existing Library Building to Classrooms.
  • Upgrade Restrooms to meet current code and ADA requirements at Pioneer Park.
  • Upgrade aging infrastructure and install a new Fire Service Line.
  • Six new modular classrooms have also been added to replace two aging portable buildings and accommodate the anticipated growth at Cupertino High School.

Fremont

At Fremont High School, the following projects were completed during the Measure B Bond Program:

  • Install (9) portable buildings to accommodate summer school demands and to serve as temporary housing for displaced classrooms during the construction of a new two-story building.
  • Build a two-story Cafeteria, Kitchen Classroom Building that houses (16) classrooms.
  • Renovate (4) existing standard classrooms into (2) new Science Classrooms in Wing 90.
  • Redesign existing parking lots and bus drop-offs along Fremont Ave. as well as Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road to enhance safety and circulation.

Homestead

At Homestead High School, the following projects were completed during the Measure B Bond Program:

  • Build a new Field House Building with space for the Athletic Trainer and Band.
  • Demolish the existing Cafeteria Kitchen Building and Quad and build a new Cafeteria Kitchen Classroom Building with (3) new science classrooms.
  • Build and new Quad as part of the new Cafeteria Kitchen Classroom Building.
  • Rebuild the Central Plant with a new enclosed Chiller yard.
  • Renovate (2) existing classrooms to by installing a Chemistry Fume Hood in each classroom.
  • Develop a campus wide utility master plan to renovate aging utility infrastructure.

Lynbrook

At Lynbrook High School, the following projects were completed during the Measure B Bond Program:

  • Expand Pool Deck.
  • Install new Monument Signage at three Vehicle Entrances to improve wayfinding and help create a sense of identity.
  • Install new Campus Directory at the main pedestrian entrance.
  • Repair and replace Roofing and Rafter Tails.
  • Install new campus wide fire suppression system.

Monta Vista

At Monta Vista, the following projects were completed during the Measure B Bond Program:

  • Demolish the existing Cafeteria Kitchen Building and Quad and build a new two-story Cafeteria Kitchen Classroom Building with (3) new classrooms.
  • Build a new Quad and Amphitheater as part of the new Cafeteria Kitchen Classroom Building.
  • Building B Restroom Renovations.
  • Various Roofing and Rafter Tail replacement projects.
