Course Verification: Mustangs! This will be the last opportunity to confirm that the classes you requested are entered correctly, make any corrections, or request changes to your schedule for the 23-24 school year. An email will be sent out on, Monday, April 3rd. Course Verification forms are due back no later than Friday, April 7th at 4:00 pm.

AI Club General Meeting 4/3

Join Homestead's Artificial Intelligence Club on Monday, April 3rd, at Lunch in Room L102 to learn about Computer Vision and Deep Learning. We will be covering modern Computer Vision techniques, applications, and current challenges in the field. We will also be announcing our officer application process for the upcoming school year. Animal Welfare Meeting 4/3

Come out to our eighth animal welfare meeting on Monday, April 3rd at lunch in room C104! We will be learning about adopting pets and easter bunnies! We will also be going over two events for volunteering and officer application! We will be passing out candy to everyone who comes! Make sure to come out to our club meeting and bring your friends!

Low Light and Flash Photography 4/4

Want to learn how to take good photos in low light settings? Or how to take cool pictures of your friends with flash? Life In Focus photography club will hold a photo activity on Tuesday, April 4 to do just that! We will also be announcing our junior officer applications and official officer application date, as well as our upcoming meetup at Sanborn! Come to i-6 on Tuesday at lunch. See you there!

Hi Homestead! Are you interested in joining science olympiads or learning what science olympiads is about? Come to our general meeting on April 5th at lunch to learn more about what we do and a new homestead science olympiads mock invitational, so you can get a feel for how science olympiads is! Hey Homestead! Come out to the Neuroscience Club’s fourth general meeting in L105 THIS Thursday at lunch! We will be learning about the divisions of the nervous system and the anatomy of nerve cells! Psych Club Fundraiser this Friday!

B.E.E.P Entrepreneurship Fair( April 8)

The Business Entrepreneurship Encouragement Program (BEEP)–an incubator that funds student businesses up to $5,000–will be hosting our very first Entrepreneurship Fair, where we will be showcasing student businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area. These businesses will include BEEP-funded teams as well as teams throughout the district. It will be a great opportunity to meet VCs, CEO’s, and other business professionals, as well as support youth entrepreneurship! If you are interested in seeing the progress of new student businesses or even looking for examples to start your own, join us on April 8th from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm at the Lynbrook High School cafeteria for this student showcase! Multicultural Week 4/10-4/14

Our annual Multicultural Week is coming up on April 10th~April 14th, with the Multicultural Night on April 14th from 4:30-7:30 pm! Please come out and enjoy a trip around the world with all the cultural booths. Lots of opportunities for parents to volunteer at this event. Future Pilots Club Meeting 4/11

Join us as we plan our flight to Angwin, a scenic airport with a narrow runway surrounded by big trees. We will be calculating the time it takes and the fuel required to find out if we can make this flight at gross weight and before the clouds come in... All calculations will be based on the actual weather that day. We look forward to seeing you in A108 during lunch on April 11th!

ASB Club Application deadline 4/14

Hi Homestead! The ASB Club Commission will be closing club applications on Friday, April 14th! This means that if you want to start a new club this year, you need to have your club advisor confirmed by that date! On informedK12, this means that step 2 needs to be completed for your club application. After this date, you can still submit club applications but your application will not be reviewed until the beginning of next school year. New Beat Percussion Ensemble

Do you want to learn how to play percussion instruments? Or do you already play, and you want to get better? The Homestead Music Department invites you to come to the Band Room on Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:15 starting on March 8th for the New Beat Percussion Ensemble.

Students MUST have IDs to get food in cafeteria

Students, remember the cafeteria is requiring the scanning of student ID cards when getting brunch or lunch. You cannot enter the cafeteria without it.  It can be an old ID card, but it must have your barcode on it.  You can even take a photo of your card and use your phone for it to be scanned.  If you don't have your ID, you will have to wait and go to the end of the line.  If you have lost your ID, you can obtain one from the ASB office located in the quad.

Academic Center

Starting on Monday 4/3 our Academic Center will be re-opening in the Library to students at Homestead High School.  The Academic Center will be open on Monday-Thursday from 2:00 - 4:30pm each day.  If your student needs a place to do their homework or get additional support from tutors please have them visit the Library.

$750 Barbara Emerich Memorial Scholarship for Seniors: Apply by April 7

The Sixth District PTA invites HHS seniors to apply for a $750 scholarship in honor of longtime PTA volunteer Barbara Emerich. The winners will be chosen based on application essays describing their community service or volunteer work. Deadline is April 7. APPLY HERE

SAT, ACT, AP Test Prep Resources for Spring

Homestead High School PTSA works with outside vendors to help our students prepare for college admissions exams. Our vendors have SAT ACT and AP (certain subjects) mock tests planned for Spring. Please see flyer for registration details.

Cookies Brand Clothing Prohibited

Dear Parents and Guardians,

A notice has gone out to students through Schoology and over the bulletin regarding Cookies brand clothing. This particular logo and clothing are for a marijuana dispensary, and our dress code prohibits anything that promotes alcohol or drugs.  We will be assigning consequences for students who continue to wear this clothing at school, and we wanted you to be aware.  Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Village Green Apartments traffic issues

Homestead values maintaining good relations with our neighbors. A concern has been raised by Village Green Apartments, located between the student parking lot and 7-11 store. Their driveway and parking area are private property and access by automobile and pedestrian traffic is not allowed. Please do not drop off or pick up students, or use to turn around. If you park there, you run the risk of being towed at your own expense. Unless you live there, please refrain from entering or hanging around the property.

1st Annual National Public Health Week Virtual Symposium April 9th

Join us to learn about public health issues and how individuals and organizations in the Bay Area are working to better the health of communities! We will be hosting a dynamic lineup of speakers including Senator Josh Becker, UC Berkeley graduate student Aniket Aich, and UC Davis Professor Loralyn Taylor to talk about their work in public health policy, environmental health, and more. Are you interested in pursuing public health? We will also be hosting a panel of undergraduate and graduate public health students who will share about their education journeys and experiences!

Mental Health-Focused Art Contest for Youth and Young Adults!

To Be Honest, a program of Momentum for Health, hosts this art contest and encourages youth and young adults in Santa Clara County to express their emotional and mental health through creative platforms and seek help in times of need. Through the art contest, we hope young adults in our community can find a positive outlet that allows them to explore their feelings and be more open about their current mental health status.

The contest is running now through April 26^th and I would love to see FUHSD students participate by creating either a 2D, 3D, 4D piece or Short Film that reflects the theme “Where I draw my strength from”! All pieces are scored by a panel of 8 community members who are passionate about mental health and art. The Top 3 winners in each category will receive $300, $200 and $100 gift cards to either BLICK Art Materials (2D & 3D prize) or B&H Photo & Video (4D & Short Film prize) to help further their crafts.

Sunnyvale Earth Day Fair
