Throughout the week there will be

·         Class dances during brunch Freshmen class will be Monday, Sophomores Tuesday, Juniors Wednesday, and Seniors are Thursday

·         Mario Kart tournament Monday through Thursday in the cafeteria during lunch

·         Flag football games at the soccer fields Monday through Thursday during lunch

·         Tie-Dye T-shirts during lunch on Wednesday

·         Rally in the gym during tutorial on Friday 

Each activity or game you participate in will have the potential to contribute points to your class and we will need YOUR help with recruitment.

AI Club Meeting 3/20

Join Homestead's Artificial Intelligence Club next Monday, March 20, at lunch in room L102. We will be covering the basics of Neural Networks, introducing Natural Language Processing, and exploring ChatGPT. Homestead AI is a community dedicated to exploring, learning, and practicing AI and machine learning. Absolutely no experience is necessary, and we will be starting from scratch. If you are interested in ChatGPT, Transformers, or language models, join us next Monday, March 20th at lunch in room L102. We hope to see you there!

Future Pilots Club - 3/21

What if Jack Sparrow was a pilot? How would he plan a clever, efficient trip to his destination while avoiding all obstacles such as terrain and winds? Of course, he'd start with a paper chart and a plotter to create a navigation log. Join the Future Pilots Club in A108 during lunch on Tuesday, March 21st to plan a flight to a destination more than 50 nautical miles away where you feel like you might find gold.... Spoil alert, snacks will be included.

HKSA 5th general meeting 3/21

HKSA be hosting our 5th general meeting on Tuesday 3/21 in the I hub room 1 during lunch and there will be food given out to everyone who attends the meeting. National Nutrition Month -- Food Sampling Event 3/24, during lunch

Hello Mustangs! The FUHSD Nutrition Department is partnering with the FUHSD Nutrition Services Student Board for National Nutrition Month’s 2023 ‘Fuel for the Future’ event. Join us at our sampling booth in the QUAD on Friday, 3/24, during lunch, where you can sample three exotic fruits/vegetables: jicama, edamame, and dragon fruit!

Junior Prom Tickets On Sale

Hey Juniors, Junior Prom Tickets are now ON SALE on the Student Store! Junior Prom will be held in The Corinthian Ballroom on Friday April 7 from 8-11 PM. the Columbia Neighborhood Center on Saturday, April 8, beginning at 11 a.m.

This is the perfect opportunity to join forces with your friends, clubs, or classmates and compete
against other high school students in a friendly dodgeball tournament. Anyone in grades 9-12 is
welcome to participate and have a good time. Gather your crew and become part of
Sunnyvale's history as potential dodgeball champions!

Multicultural Week 4/10-4/14

Our annual Multicultural Week is coming up on April 10th~April 14th, with the Multicultural Night on April 14th from 4:30-7:30 pm! We are looking for students to participate in our fashion show video to show off Homestead’s culture and diversity. The video will be in an interview style where participants will be asked questions about their cultural clothing and heritage. Those who are interviewed will also be asked to walk in the fashion show on Multicultural Night. If interested, please fill out THIS form by March 17th, Friday. Hope to see you there!

ASB Club Applications

Hi Homestead! The ASB Club Commission will be closing club applications on Friday, April 14th! This means that if you want to start a new club this year, you need to have your club advisor confirmed by that date! On informedK12, this means that step 2 needs to be completed for your club application. After this date, you can still submit club applications but your application will not be reviewed until the beginning of next school year. New Beat Percussion Ensemble

Congratulations Science Olympiad - Stanford Invitational

Congratulations Homestead Science Olympiad team for doing well at the Stanford Invitational a few weeks ago. Special congratulations for Codebusters for placing 1st, Detector Building for placing 3rd, and Forestry for placing 3rd!

Students MUST have IDs to get food in cafeteria

Students, remember the cafeteria is requiring the scanning of student ID cards when getting brunch or lunch. You cannot enter the cafeteria without it.  It can be an old ID card, but it must have your barcode on it.  You can even take a photo of your card and use your phone for it to be scanned.  If you don't have your ID, you will have to wait and go to the end of the line.  If you have lost your ID, you can obtain one from the ASB office located in the quad.

SAT, ACT, AP Test Prep Resources for Spring

Homestead High School PTSA works with outside vendors to help our students prepare for college admissions exams. Our vendors have SAT ACT and AP (certain subjects) mock tests planned for Spring. Please see flier for registration details.

$750 Barbara Emerich Memorial Scholarship for Seniors: Apply by April 7

The Sixth District PTA invites HHS seniors to apply for a $750 scholarship in honor of longtime PTA volunteer Barbara Emerich. The winners will be chosen based on application essays describing their community service or volunteer work. Deadline is April 7. APPLY HERE

Mental Health-Focused Art Contest for Youth and Young Adults!

To Be Honest, a program of Momentum for Health, hosts this art contest and encourages youth and young adults in Santa Clara County to express their emotional and mental health through creative platforms and seek help in times of need. Through the art contest, we hope young adults in our community can find a positive outlet that allows them to explore their feelings and be more open about their current mental health status.

The contest is running now through April 26^th and I would love to see FUHSD students participate by creating either a 2D, 3D, 4D piece or Short Film that reflects the theme “Where I draw my strength from”! All pieces are scored by a panel of 8 community members who are passionate about mental health and art. The Top 3 winners in each category will receive $300, $200 and $100 gift cards to either BLICK Art Materials (2D & 3D prize) or B&H Photo & Video (4D & Short Film prize) to help further their crafts.
