Due to CAASPP testing for all Juniors 3/14-3/16, there will be a Special Schedule on these days. 9th, 10th and 12th grade students will have a later start. There is no school on Monday, 3/13.

The First Progress Report for the second semester will be available to view in the IC portal by end of day Friday, March 10th. If you have not already opened your Infinite Campus Portal account, please do so as soon as possible.

Juniors and Parents College Information Night Wednesday 3/8
Juniors and Parents,
Join Ms. Bellamy, HHS College and Career Advisor, for “College Information Night” Wednesday, March 8th from 6:00-7:00pm in the Cafeteria. We will go over important information about colleges and HHS college applications process! If time permits, we will have a Q&A at the end. Students attendance is not required as they will be provided further details in the fall of their Senior year.

Future Pilots Club - 3/7
Ever wondered what happens when a plane stops flying, or in other words, stalls? Or better yet, how to recover from this sudden loss of lift? Come to the Future Pilots Club meeting on Tuesday, March 7th, during lunch in A108 to get an insight on how to recover from both a power-on stall and power-off stall to keep the plane flying!

Hey Homestead! Have you ever heard of mandated reporting or experienced it yourself? Would you like to learn more about how to get help safely or give your friends support? Well Homestead Mental Wellness Space is hosting a meeting this Wednesday 3/8 during lunch in C104 to understand the mandated reporting system, its advantages, disadvantages and how students can be affected.

Animal Welfare Candy Jar Guessing Fundraiser 3/10
Come out to the quad stage this friday, march 10th during lunch to support a local animal shelter. We will be holding a jar guessing game where participants guess how many candies are in each jar. The closest guess wins the whole jar of candy! Each guess will cost 50 cents and all the money raised will be donated to the Pet in Need animal shelter. We hope to see you there!

Bicyclists -- do not lock or park bikes around baseball field and bleachers
Bikers, remember to NOT lock your bikes to the baseball fences and bleachers since baseball season is starting. Bicycles will be removed and relocated if they are interfering with practices and games.
Bike for Boba!
Attention Bikers and boba-lovers! We will be giving out free boba to those who come out to the second Bike for Boba event on March 17th at 3:10PM by the bike racks next to the pool. Last year, this event gathered 80 high school students between Homestead and Fremont! The event allows students to advocate for full-time bike lanes on Homestead Road so that students can safely ride to and from school.
The event is organized by Bike Sunnyvale and Silicon Valley Bike Coalition. The bike ride will last for approximately an hour, so if this seems like your thing make sure to stop by!
The route for the bike ride will be beginner friendly. We will start at Homestead, going up Mary, taking Fremont Ave to Fremont High School, then heading south on Wolfe, and then riding back to Homestead HS on Homestead Rd. Near the end of the ride, there will be free boba for students.

Impact Teen Drivers presentation
Parents and students are invited to an informative workshop by Impact Teen Drivers, which will focus on concrete strategies for avoiding the #1 killer of teens in America: distracted driving. The workshop will follow the PTSA general meeting. The meeting is at 7pm; the workshop should start ~7:30.
