Special Bell Schedule: Course Selection ~ 2/6

Due to Course Selection on Monday, February 6th, there will be a Special Schedule which extends Tutorial by 10 minutes and modifies Period 3 through Lunch.  CLICK HERE for the bell schedule.

Guidance || Course Selection for 2023-24 School Year

Course Selection Begins February 6^th, 2023 

9^th, 10^th, and 11^th-grade students will attend Course Selection presentations, for the 2023-24 school year. Please note there will be a special bell schedule for the course selection week. 

Current 9^th grade students will attend on Monday, 2/6, current 10^th grade students on Wednesday, 2/8 and current 11^th grade students on Friday, 2/10 during tutorial.  

• Students with last names beginning with A - E will meet in the Auditorium  
• Students with last names beginning with F - La will meet in the Large Gym 
• Students with last names beginning with Le - Ph will meet in the Cafeteria 
• Students with last names beginning with Pi - Z will meet in the Field House

COURSE SELECTION TIMELINE 

February 6^th - February 10^th 

Course selection presentations by the school counselors & fill out Course Request Forms on Informed K-12 

Enter courses in Infinite Campus (IC). Instructions can be found on the website/guidance. 

February 17^th 

All course selection forms are due on Informed K-12 by February 17, 2023

All classes must be entered into IC by February 17, 2023

Seniors & Grades not doing Course selection please attend regular tutorial.

Geometry tutor needed

Do you have a free 3rd period and love Geometry. We are looking for 1-2 Geometry tutors during 3rd period to help a few students. You can use this as volunteer work.

Homestead Studios Short Film Auditions 2/6-2/13

Are you interested in acting? Audition for one of Film Club's 3 short films! Auditions are being held from February 6th through February 13th in Room C211 at lunch. If you have any questions, email Film Club at hhsfilmofficers@gmail.com. No acting experience is necessary!

Valentine's Day Rose Grams 2/6-2/10

Hey Homestead! Do you want to surprise that special someone with a rose on Valentine’s Day? Then come out to the quad during brunch and lunch everyday this week (February 6-10) to pre-order a rose gram! For $2, you can purchase a custom card with a fresh long-stem rose, or for $4, you can purchase a crocheted rose that can be kept forever. Cards and roses will be delivered throughout the day on Valentine’s Day.

Singing Valentines (1/31-2/10)

Hey Homestead! Valentine's Day is right around the corner, so treat your friends and your crush to Singing Valentines presented by HHS Choir! Singing Valentines will be sold Jan 31 to Feb 10th in the quad at lunch, for only $2. Don't miss out on this opportunity to have your closest friends serenaded in front of their entire class!

Red Cross Club GM #8 on 2/6

Hey Mustangs! Join the Red Cross Club this monday in room C210 at lunch for our eighth general meeting! We will be creating posters and helping you sign up with Volunteer Connections. There will be free cookies at the end!

Future Pilots Club Meeting 2/7

Want to learn how to talk to Air Traffic Controllers by listening to other pilots live? Come to the third Future Pilots Club meeting on Tuesday, February 7th, during lunch in A108. We will be covering exciting upcoming events, including phonetic alphabet trivia and planning a cross country trip the old fashion style in the midst of eating popcorn. We look forward to seeing all aspiring aviators there!

Science Olympiad General Meeting 2/8

Come to our general meeting on Feb 8 during lunch in S4 for a guest speaker presentation from a student at UC Berkeley. She will be talking about her experiences at Science Olympiad and how the experience help her in college.

Econ Club General Meeting 2/8

Interested in economics? Consider signing up for the National Economics Challenge! There are divisions for both beginners and more advanced students, and finals are in NYC and free! To register, please talk to Ms. Heaton in A206 by March 1. If you'd like to learn more, come to Economics Club on Wednesday, February 8, in A206 during lunch for our 10th GM! We'll also be talking about FOREX and international trade!

$750 Barbara Emerich Memorial Scholarship for Seniors: Apply by April 7

The Sixth District PTA invites HHS seniors to apply for a $750 scholarship in honor of longtime PTA volunteer Barbara Emerich. The winners will be chosen based on application essays describing their community service or volunteer work. Deadline is April 7. APPLY HERE

SAT & ACT Prep Resources for Winter & Spring

Homestead High School PTSA works with outside vendors to help our students prepare for college admissions exams. Our vendors have SAT and ACT mock tests scheduled in January. Test prep sessions for March and May SAT test dates are also available. Two live webinars are offered free to the HHS community:
