COURSE INFORMATION FAIR WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 1st & FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3rd!
This special program for students will be during Tutorial and will provide 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students with an opportunity to learn more about Homestead’s educational options and to assist students in selecting courses for the next school year.
THE COURSE INFORMATION FAIR IS MANDATORY – YOU MUST ATTEND ALL 4 PRESENTATIONS.
Seniors will attend mandatory class meetings in the Field House on Wednesday & Friday during the Course Information Fair!

Guidance || Course Selection for 2023-24 School Year
Course Selection Begins February 6h, 2023
9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students will attend Course Selection presentations, for the 2023-24 school. Please note there will be a special bell schedule for the week of Course selection.
Current 9th-grade students will attend on Monday, February 6th, current 10th-grade students on Wednesday, February 8th, and current 11th-grade students on Friday, February 10th during tutorial.
Students with last names beginning with A - E will meet in the Auditorium
students with last names beginning with F - La will meet in the Large Gym
students with last names beginning with Le - Ph will meet in the Cafeteria
students with last names beginning with Pi - Z will meet in the Field House

Course selection presentations by the school counselors & fill out Course Request Forms on Informed K-12
Enter courses in Infinite Campus (IC). Instructions can be found on the website/guidance.
All course selection forms are due on Informed K-12 by February 17, 2023
All classes must be entered into IC by February 17, 2023
Seniors & Grades not doing Course selection please attend regular tutorial.

Congratulations Science Olympiad
Congratulations Homestead Science Olympiad team for doing well at Aggie Invitational in Davis two weeks ago. Special congratulations for Fermi Questions for placing 4th and Agricultural Science for placing 7th out of 49 teams!
Students MUST have IDs to get food in cafeteria
Students, remember the cafeteria is requiring the swiping of student ID cards when getting brunch or lunch. If you do not have your ID you can obtain one from the ASB office located in the quad.

Personal Finance First General Meeting 1/30
Are you BROKE??? Do you want to learn how to MAKE MONEY? Come to Personal Finance Club’s VERY FIRST general meeting Monday, 1/30, during lunch at C203 for FREE SNACKS. We will be introducing our club and the opportunities we offer, and we will have a few interesting icebreaker activities. There WILL be officer positions available!
Origami Club Meeting 1/31
Join the Origami Club in i10 at lunch on Tuesday, January 31st for our first club meeting. Whether you've never folded anything or are an experienced folder, all are welcome! We'll go over our club's goals and some activities we'll have throughout the year - we will also provide origami paper and instructional books, so be sure to bring your friends for some time to unwind. Singing Valentines (1/31-2/10)

Homestead Choir and Orchestra Concert 2/2
Come see King Arthur by Henry Purcell as performed by the Homestead choir and select members of the Homestead orchestra. Also on the program will be Coming Home, by our own Dr Morton, and the Finale from the Gilbert and Sullivan opera Ruddigore. Concert begins at 7:30pm on 2/2 in the Homestead Auditorium.

Yearbook Information Session
Are you interested in writing, photography, art, or design? Do you want to create a piece of Homestead history? Ferentinos Scholarship applications due Friday, 2/3
Attention Seniors! This is a reminder that the Nick Ferentinos Scholarship Fund is accepting applications from qualified 2023 graduating seniors until 11:59pm Friday, Feb. 3. This year, one (1) scholarship of $5,000 is available to support a student who is planning to attend a 4-year college in the 2023-2024 academic year. Applicants must be current Homestead High School seniors with at least a 2.5 GPA who demonstrate strong qualities of mentorship and exemplary performance in journalism and/or American Studies. Future Pilots Club Meeting 2/7
Want to learn how to talk to Air Traffic Controllers by listening to other pilots live? Come to the third Future Pilots Club meeting on Tuesday, February 7th, during lunch in A108. We will be covering exciting upcoming events, including phonetic alphabet trivia and planning a cross country trip the old fashion style in the midst of eating popcorn. We look forward to seeing all aspiring aviators there!
Science Olympiad General Meeting 2/8
Come to our general meeting on Feb 8 during lunch in S4 for a guest speaker presentation from a student at UC Berkeley. She will be talking about her experiences at Science Olympiad and how the experience help her in college.
Econ Club General Meeting 2/8
Interested in economics? Consider signing up for the National Economics Challenge! There are divisions for both beginners and more advanced students, and finals are in NYC and free! To register, please talk to Ms. Heaton in A206 by March 1. If you'd like to learn more, come to Economics Club on Wednesday, February 8, in A206 during lunch for our 10th GM! We'll also be talking about FOREX and international trade!
Community Art Project - The Year of the Rabbit in support of rebuilding Ukraine
The Cupertino Rotary is holding a fundraiser to support rebuilding homes in Ukraine. They are looking for local artists to paint Rabbit sculptures to be displayed throughout Cupertino in honor of the Year of the Rabbit. The Rabbits will eventually be auctioned off. The artists will be commissioned.

SAT & ACT Prep Resources for Winter & Spring
Homestead High School PTSA works with outside vendors to help our students prepare for college admissions exams. Our vendors have SAT and ACT mock tests scheduled in January.
