First Semester Report Cards will be available to view in the IC portal by end of the day Friday, January 20^th. If you have not already opened your Infinite Campus Portal account, please do so as soon as possible.

Guidance || Middle College Informational Meeting 1/20

Dear tenth and eleventh-grade students,

We would like to share with you some information about an educational option that is available to students in 10th and 11th grade for the following academic year. Middle College is a program where students take their high school English, History, and Advisory Electives on the De Anza College campus from FUHSD teachers, while taking college courses through De Anza for the remainder of their schedule.

Our program may be a good fit for students who:

• need a different environment to be more successful in high school;

• would like to be part of a tight-knit community of learners;

• are feeling disconnected from their high school in academics or socially/emotionally;

• are interested in being a part-time college student next year; and

• are interested in taking high school and college courses on the De Anza Campus instead of on their high school campus.

If this sounds interesting, Middle College may be the program for you! 

Please check out the Middle College website and come to a Middle College Student-Only Informational Meeting to learn more about the program, and the application process, and hear from Middle College teachers and students. The meeting will be on Jan. 20th during tutorial in the Library.

IDC Fantastics

Homestead!

For the first time in 3 years, IDC Fantastics, our annual district-wide competitive rally is back! Fantastics is a great way for us to compete against the other schools and win a trophy!

Sign up HERE to participate. Selections are first come first serve. Last day to sign up is Friday 1/20. Ticket sales will be held throughout this week in the quad. Tickets are $2 with ASB and $3 non-ASB. There is no ticket sales at-the-door.

Fantastics will be on Friday 1/27 at 7pm in Fremont High school gym. See you there, let’s get that trophy!

Student Representative to the Board of Education

Do you want to represent the student voices of not only Homestead, but the four other schools in the district?  If so, you may be interested in applying to be the Homestead High School candidate for the position of FUHSD Student Board Rep.  The position is open to all 9^th-11^th grade students. See Brochure for more information. 

We will be conducting interviews to select the Homestead candidate during the week of January 30th.  If you are interested, fill out an application and email the application to susan_rocha@fuhsd.org by Friday, January 27^th at 3:00pm.  You will be contacted with an interview time.

One Acts performance

Homestead High School Annual One Acts performances are student-written, student-produced One Act plays. It's like getting 6 plays for the price of 1!  Sometimes funny, sometimes thought-provoking, each is performed for you. Come be entertained on 1/19, 1/20 and 1/21 at 7p.m. in the auditorium. Contest to name new traffic cone mascot

Go Safely California, a campaign created by the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTA) to promote driving safety, is holding a contest to name their new traffic cone mascot. The contest is open to anyone in California between the age of 5 and 18. Mustang Run 2023

Hello Homestead, Please join the athletic department and boosters program for our 2023 Mustang Run, held on Jan 21^st. This event is great for all of the family, as there will be Boba and a 5k Run of Walk around the campus. For students: there are many advantages, from free Boba to the athletic team with the highest participation to a free run PE voucher (see all reasons in link below). Animal Welfare Meeting 1/23

Come out to our fifth animal welfare meeting on Monday, January 23rd at lunch in room C104! We will be learning about exotic animals such as red pandas, snakes, and more! We will also be going over junior officer applications and passing out cayd to everyone who comes! Make sure to come out to our club meeting and bring your friends!

Community Art Project - The Year of the Rabbit in support of rebuilding Ukraine

The Cupertino Rotary is holding a fundraiser to support rebuilding homes in Ukraine. They are looking for local artists to paint Rabbit sculptures to be displayed throughout Cupertino in honor of the Year of the Rabbit. The Rabbits will eventually be auctioned off. The artists will be commissioned.

SAT & ACT Prep Resources for Winter & Spring

Homestead High School PTSA works with outside vendors to help our students prepare for college admissions exams. Our vendors have SAT and ACT mock tests scheduled in January. Test prep sessions for March and May SAT test dates are also available. Two live webinars are offered free to the HHS community:
