Attention Seniors!! Please check/verify the spelling of your name on Infinite Campus is correct for diplomas. If you have any corrections or concerns, please stop by the Registrar's office in the GSS and see Ms. Alderette. The deadline for any name corrections is December 22, 2022!
Winter Study Land 12/12
Hey Mustangs! Are you stressed about your studies? Harried about homework? Freaking out over finals? Come to Winter Study Land on December 12th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the library to study with friends, relax with snacks, and pick up some cool study tips. Tutors, staff, and resources will be available. We will also be holding a Club and Grub in the library quad from 5:30 to 6:30.
Homestead’s Holiday Fundraiser Week 12/12 - 12/16

Hey Mustangs! Next week, December 12th-16th, is Homestead’s Holiday Fundraiser Week! This year, all of our proceeds from this event will go to West Valley Community Services to support families in our local area experiencing food insecurities. We will be holding a canned food drive throughout the week and donations can be made through the online donation portal or in person through cash or check. In addition, there will be a unique activity every day such as Snowflake making, boba in the quad, and a spikeball tournament with raffle prizes. Signups for Spikeball are $5 and open now, so bring all your friends to play! Find all links on our instagram @homesteadasb or sent to your school email. The final event for this week is a Holiday Run on Saturday December 17th from 10 am-12 pm. You must bring donations to the event to participate, and please dress up to run in all your festive holiday gear! Prizes and photo booths will be available along with free hot chocolate and cookies. Remember to come out to these events to win points for your class and support a good cause!
Spikeball (Thursday 12/15): Sign up for spike ball individually or with a partner on this spreadsheet: tinyurl.com/5hd8rtew! Pay $5 to participate in a thrilling competition with all your friends! Prizes will be given!
Boba (Friday 12/16): Make sure to bring $5 to buy boba in the quad! There will be 2 different flavors offered and cash, card, or apple pay will be accepted.

Holiday Photo Booth at brunch and lunch all week
Hey Homestead! Come take a picture with Santa at our Holiday photo booth during brunch and lunch every day this week. Photos are $2 and will be delivered digitally directly to your email. You can pay with cash or credit card. All proceeds will benefit the Homestead AVID Class of 2024. See you there!
Speech and Debate 8th General meeting 12/12
Come out to our last GM of the month at lunch on Monday, December 12th in room C206. We will be recapping the tournaments of this semester and will go over the schedule for next semester.

Principles of Business Maker's Fair!

There will be 26 booths selling all sorts of unique and fun items and gifts. It is a cash only event; please bring ones, fives, tens, and do a little holiday shopping for friends and family! Please join the Differences Among Us for our first ever Santa's Smoothie Shop Social at lunch in the Student Center. We will be meeting on Wednesday, December 14th to drink hot cocoa, sip on smoothies, and enjoy time with friends. Free snacks will be provided, so make sure to stop by the Student center to join us for a sweet treat!

Key Club Caroling for Cans
Hello Mustangs! Homestead Key Club is hosting its annual December Division event: Caroling for Cans, on Saturday, December 17th from 9:00-11:30 in the iHub. During this event, we will be walking door to door in the nearby Homestead neighborhood to serenade donors in exchange for canned food donations.

Math Lab will be closed during the week of finals. If you need help with your math coursework, please plan on attending before then.
AVID holiday giftwrapping fundraiser during finals week
The AVID class of 2024 will be holding their annual holiday gift wrapping fundraiser during finals week, on the following dates:
--Monday, December 19 from 12:30-3:30pm,
--Tuesday & Wednesday, December 20 & 21 from 2:30-4:00pm, AND
--Thursday, December 22 from 9:30am-2:30pm in room C102.
We will provide everything for you – boxes, bags, tissue paper, wrapping paper, bows, tags, etc. Just drop your gifts off in room C102 (be sure to label the “to” and “from” on each gift with a post-it) and our expert AVID elves will instantly make them look beautiful. All donations will go toward supporting the AVID Class of 2024’s junior trip to visit SoCal schools during Spring Break this year. You choose the amount you want to donate – every little bit helps! Please email Natalie Owsley at firstname.lastname@example.org if you plan to drop off gifts to be wrapped so we know to expect you!

Winter Formal Ticket Sales
Hey Homestead! Winter formal will be held on January 13th from 7-10 pm at Villa Regusa! Ticket sales will start Monday Dec 12- Friday Dec 16. $50 for Asb, $55 for non asb and guests. Guest ticket sales will only be held on Dec 16. Ticket will mainly be sold online so keep a lookout for the QR code and link next week! We can’t wait to kick it with you at winter formal!

SAT & ACT Prep Resources for Winter & Spring
Homestead High School PTSA works with outside vendors to help our students prepare for college admissions exams. Our vendors have SAT and ACT mock tests scheduled in January. Test prep sessions for March and May SAT test dates are also available. Two live webinars are offered free to the HHS community:

Mustang Run 2023
Homestead Athletic Boosters is hosting a fun run/walk on January 21, 2023. Registration is $35 per participant. Proceeds will support Homestead Athletics. All ages and abilities are welcome to this community-wide event. An alternate course on the track will be available for those who need a flat surface. Homestead students participating in PE for the 2022-23 school year are eligible to receive a one-time "no run" pass. The one-time “no-run” pass entitles students who participate in the Mustang Run to earn a pass to use as a credit during a PE run day, as defined by your PE teacher.

Contest to name new traffic cone mascot
Go Safely California, a campaign created by the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTA) to promote driving safety, is holding a contest to name their new traffic cone mascot. The contest
