Winter Study Land 12/12 Hey Mustangs! Are you stressed about your studies? Harried about homework? Freaking out over finals? Come to Winter Study Land on December 12th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the library to study with friends, relax with snacks, and pick up some cool study tips. Tutors, staff, and resources will be available. We will also be holding a Club and Grub in the library quad from 5:30 to 6:30. Homestead’s Holiday Fundraiser Week 12/12 - 12/16 CLICK HERE for the Holiday Fundraiser Flyer! Hey Mustangs! Next week, December 12th-16th, is Homestead’s Holiday Fundraiser Week! This year, all of our proceeds from this event will go to West Valley Community Services to support families in our local area experiencing food insecurities. We will be holding a canned food drive throughout the week and donations can be made through the online donation portal or in person through cash or check. In addition, there will be a unique activity every day such as Snowflake making, boba in the quad, and a spikeball tournament with raffle prizes. Signups for Spikeball are $5 and open now, so bring all your friends to play! Find all links on our instagram @homesteadasb or sent to your school email. The final event for this week is a Holiday Run on Saturday December 17th from 10 am-12 pm. You must bring donations to the event to participate, and please dress up to run in all your festive holiday gear! Prizes and photo booths will be available along with free hot chocolate and cookies. Homestead Key Club is hosting its annual December Division event: Caroling for Cans, on Saturday, December 17th from 9:00-11:30 in the iHub. During this event, we will be walking door to door in the nearby Homestead neighborhood to serenade donors in exchange for canned food donations. Math Lab - Finals Week Math Lab will be closed during the week of finals. If you need help with your math coursework, please plan on attending before then. AVID holiday giftwrapping fundraiser during finals week The AVID class of 2024 will be holding their annual holiday gift wrapping fundraiser during finals week, on the following dates: --Monday, December 19 from 12:30-3:30pm, --Tuesday & Wednesday, December 20 & 21 from 2:30-4:00pm, AND --Thursday, December 22 from 9:30am-2:30pm in room C102. We will provide everything for you – boxes, bags, tissue paper, wrapping paper, bows, tags, etc. Just drop your gifts off in room C102 (be sure to label the “to” and “from” on each gift with a post-it) and our expert AVID elves will instantly make them look beautiful. All donations will go toward supporting the AVID Class of 2024’s junior trip to visit SoCal schools during Spring Break this year. You choose the amount you want to donate – every little bit helps! Proceeds will support Homestead Athletics. All ages and abilities are welcome to this community-wide event. An alternate course on the track will be available for those who need a flat surface. Check in is at 10:30a and the run/walk begins at 11:00a.
