Analyzing Teaching for Student Results

During the 2013-14 school year all FUHSD administrators  and Teacher Advisors are participating in a course addressing key elements of effective instruction and how to give feedback to teachers to support their efforts to ensure high levels of learning for every student.  The course is facilitated by consultants from Research for Better Teaching (RBT) and uses the same core text as the one used in our Skillful Teacher course for teachers.  The 7 session course began  in August and will continue through January.  Following each session, participants are charged with practicing what they learned within the session in observations, conferences and conversations with teachers.

The course is part of our effort to:

  • build a shared language about instructional practice,
  • norm our expectations for high quality instruction and
  • increase the number of people who can support and offer useful feedback to teachers about their practice.

If you want to learn more about this course, contact Kate Jamentz, or talk to your site administrator.
