Budget Update - 6/16/09
In a Board Study Session, CBO/Associate Superintendent Christine Mallery presented the 2009-2010 Adoption Budget. Ms. Mallery reported that California's economy and unemployment continue to get worse with revenues falling dramatically and expenditures continuing to grow. She reported there is talk of negative property tax growth statewide and for Santa Clara County. For 2009-2010, the District expects enrollment to hold steady around 10,340. The District proposed a very conservative Adoption Budget for 2009-2010 and subsequent two years with zero property tax growth. No Federal Stimulus Funding is included in the Adoption Budget and this budget does not reflect pending cuts by the legislature that could total an additional $6 to $10 million for 2009-2010.
