Special Education Summer Programs

Special Education Credit Recovery Program

Who: Currently enrolled students in Special Education RSP courses

What: The credit recovery courses are as follows:

  • English (5 credits)
  • Algebra 1 (5 credits)
  • Geometry (5 credits)
  • Biology (5 credits)
  • US History (5 credits)
  • World History (5 credits)
  • US Government (5 credits)*
  • Economics (5 credits)*

* Open to Horizon students

Where: All credit recovery classes will be held at Fremont High School

When: 1st Session is June 17 - July 5, 2013. 2nd Session is July 8 - July 25, 2013 (6 weeks total). Classes will run from 7:40am-12:00pm, Monday - Friday

Why: In order for your student to recover or gain credits toward graduation

Note: Students will register for credit recovery courses through their Lead Resource Specialist and/or Case Manager

Just Do It (JDI) Summer Program

Who: Incoming 9th grade students

What: "Just Do It" summer classes are school-specific. Each site will host JDI classes for incoming freshmen

Where: Your student will attend the JDI program at his/her home school - CHS, FHS, HHS, LHS, & MVHS

When: June 17, 2013 - June 28, 2013 (2 weeks). Classes run from 8:00am - 11:00am, Monday - Friday

Why: Transition program for students prior to beginning classes in the fall

Extended School Year (ESY) Summer Programs

Who: All current FUHSD students in any secondary or post secondary Academic Community Transition program or Academic Communication SDC at HHS

What: Summer ESY courses are an extension of the regular year program

Where: ESY & WINGS @ Homestead High School

 Bridges @ District Office

 LYNCS @ De Anza College

When: ESY - 6/17 to 7/11; M-Th; 8:00am-1:00pm

 WINGS - 6/17 to 7/11; M-F; 8:00am-2:00pm

 Bridges - 6/17 to 7/11; M-F; 7:45am-1:45pm

 LYNCS - 7/1 to 8/9; M-F; 8:00am-1:30pm

Why: Continuing education for students currently enrolled in any Academic Community Transition program or Academic Communication SDC at HHS

Today: 5/21/13

No classes will meet on Thursday, July 4th
