Program Description

This newly designed program is intended for students who are interested in beginning their transition into high school early and contributing positively to a learning community with other incoming freshmen. Homestead Allies will help students gain knowledge and skills known to promote success in high school and will be taught by our highly qualified, experienced teachers. The curriculum will incorporate the following:

  • An opportunity for students to make new friends and work as a team.

  • A focus on problem solving skills and use of multiple approaches to solve problems in a way that connects what students already know to concepts they will learn in ninth grade.

  • Development of the academic identity through effort, persistence, collaboration, and risk-taking.

Program Facts

  • Students will receive 5 units of high school credit upon completion of the program.
  • Homestead Allies is open to incoming Homestead High School 9th grade students only.
  • This program is considered a "head start" and does not allow students to pass out of the course for a higher level math class in the fall.
