CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS

JULY 2009  The District received approval from the Department of State Architect to begin construction on the Fremont High School tracks and fields project. Work began Monday, July 27th, concentrating on the fields west of the football field. The football field and bleachers will remain open for physical education classes and athletics through at least the end of track season next spring. The area that is currently the softball field, baseball field and west to the property line will all be under construction during Phase One. The contractor Robert A. Bothman, Inc. has secured the construction site for the safety of the public, students and staff. Phase One includes demolishion of all existing structures such as backstops, dugouts and scoreboards within the  construction site. Next the heavy earth moving equipment will move in to re-grade the site and install an extensive new drainage system. We will also be installing conduit for electrical and communications wiring as well as for solar panels that will be located in the fields area. Targeted completion for Phase One of the project is late 2009 or early 2010.
