Located in the heart of Silicon Valley,
the Fremont Union High School District currently serves students iliving in all of the City of Cupertino, most of the City of Sunnyvale, and portions of the Cities of San Jose, Los Altos, Saratoga, and Santa Clara in Santa Clara County.

The term Silicon Valley originally referred to the region's large number of silicon chip innovators and manufacturers, but eventually came to refer to all the high-tech businesses in the area. Despite the development of other high-tech economic centers throughout the United States, Silicon Valley continues to be the leading high-tech hub because of its large number of engineers and venture capitalists.
