Community Advisory Committee

Why is there a CAC?

Each SELPA is mandated by law to:

  • ADVISE the administration of the development, amendment, and review of the Local Plan;
  • RECOMMEND annual priorities to be addressed;
  • ASSIST in parent education and request their input;
  • ENCOURAGE community involvement in the development and review of the Local Plan;
  • SUPPORT activities for students with special needs;
  • EDUCATE by offering informative meetings and support.

WHAT IS CAC?

The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is a group of parents, educators and community members who provide input to the administration and school boards of Special Education Local Planning Area (SELPA) II. By getting involved in CAC EVENTS as a parent of special need child, you make a difference to your child as well as to our community. CAC sponsors educational and training programs related to special education  at Bishop Elementary School every month. Do you want to keep updated on CAC events for parents of special education students in Cupertino and Sunnyvale elementary and Fremont Union high school districts? If so, please join our email distribution list by emailing SELPA2CAC-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. This is a low-volume announcement list only. You will receive no more than four messages per month from CAC volunteers informing you of upcoming events for parents
